A full-time teacher is required to start for the 2019-2020 school year to teach some Grade 2 and Grade 3 to 9 Electives such as PE, Lifeskills, and Junior High Career and Technology Foundations.
Potential candidates will need to demonstrate evidence of an understanding and commitment to Christian Education including the ability to interpret and implement the Alberta Program of Studies from a Christ-centered - Christian perspective. The successful candidate would have the ability to promote the mission of the school which is developing a Christ-centered community of learners for His joyful service.
Skills include the ability to:
- teach all courses (including Bible class) in a knowledgeable and engaging way to encourage students in their faith. Being a Chapel leader is also a component of the position.
- build positive and strong relationships with each student in your care across a wide grade range.
- be highly organized and flexible in going to different classrooms and the gym including preparation and organization of PE supplies
- take initiative with other teachers to communicate, adapt, and be proactive with students who have specialized needs and require adapted or modified programming.
Medicine Hat Christian School serves close to 250 students and is an alternative Christian education program within School Division No. 76.
